Company Profile Apiezon Products is a business unit of M&I Materials Ltd., a company which has developed out of the research activities of GEC PLC. Originally a subsidiary of GEC, M&I Materials has been an independent company since 1993.
M&I Materials Ltd. focuses on the manufacture of specialist
materials, for engineering and scientific use. Its products fall
into two groups; one based on fluid technology and the other on
powder technology. Alongside Apiezon vacuum products in the oil
technology group are MIDEL®
fire-resistant, environmentally-safe insulating fluids, used principally
in electricity distribution. The powder technology group comprises
Wolfmet®
Tungsten alloys used for example in aerospace, and Metrosil®
voltage dependant resistors.
The Company's aim is to grow by serving its customers' needs for new and improved materials and for high standards of service. It has an international customer base which includes companies such as Boeing, ABB and BOC Edwards, supported by a worldwide network of agents and distributors. M&I Materials Ltd. is based in Manchester in the UK where its main manufacturing, development and commercial activities are all located. Its commitment to vacuum products was demonstrated in 1998 with the purchase of Inland Vacuum Industries Inc. and again in 1999 with the acquisition of CVC's vacuum fluids division. Both businesses now operate from the Inland facility near Rochester, N.Y., USA. All the business units of M&I Materials Ltd have BS
EN ISO 9001:2000 certification.
